Conference summarize the work results in 2023 Raise the direction to implement the work of 2024 of the Ministry of Social Affairs, Veterans and Youth Rehabilitation

Office of the Ministry Mosvy, Monday morning, February 5th, 2024, H.E Kim Sovandy, General Secretary of the General Secretariat of the CNCC participated in the opening ceremony of the conference to summarize the work results of 2023 and the direction of implementation of the work of 2024 of the Ministry of Social Affairs, Veterans and Youth Rehabilitation (Mosvy) under the high presidency of HE Chea Somethy, Minister of the Ministry Mosvy And President of the Cambodian National Council for Children.

In this ceremony, H.E the General Secretary intervened on the progress of the work of the General Secretariat of the CNCC achieved the past and set the direction for the implementation of the work in 2024 as well.

In his intervention, His Excellency mentioned:

Progress:  H.E spoke about the history of the ratification of the Convention on the Rights of the Child, the implementation of the Convention on the Rights of the Child, and the progress report on the implementation of the Convention on the Rights of the Child to the United Nations Committee on the Rights of the Child.  Acceptance and distribution of UN recommendations according to ministries and institutions to continue to improve. Developed national guidelines on online child protection. Has been preparing documents for training on online child safety. Implemented online child safety project. Celebrated the International Children's Day on June 1 and the Cambodian Children's Day 2023. Prepared documents on the revision and operation of the CNCC.

Continuing direction  : Preparation of national plan for the elimination of Violence against children, continuation of research on Third Protocol of the UN, continuation of dissemination of latest UN Survey extensively, continue to implement the project on online child safety, organizing meetings to celebrate the 75th anniversary of International Children's Day, June 1 and Cambodian Children's Day 2024.

Challenges: Limited National budget support and from partner organizations for implementation in accordance with the planned work and limited technical capacity of technical officers, requiring further research to develop themself in accordance with the digital context.
