Children's Forum and Policymakers

Ministry Office of MoSVY On May 24, 2024, the General Secretariat of the National Council of Cambodia for Children (NCCC), in collaboration with a number of ministries, institutions, and non-governmental organizations, organized a forum for children and policymakers.

The forum aims to promote children's participation in the policy-making process and share progress, challenges, and solutions. The speakers who participated in this forum were five people. (1) H.E. Dr. Nath Bunroeun, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Education, Youth, and Sports; (2) Lok Chumteav Chou Bun Eng, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Interior; (3) Lok Chumteav Sorn Sabon, Under Secretary of State of the Ministry of Mosvy (4) Lok Chumteav Tep Roda, Under Secretary of State of the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications; and (5) Mrs. Seang Lumongkunthea, Director of the National Reproductive Health Program of the National Center for Maternal and Child Health, Ministry of Health. A total of 200 children, caregivers, government officials, and relevant partner organizations participated.

In this forum, the speakers discussed policies and responses to children's questions related to discrimination against children of the same sex, children affected by natural disasters, climate change, and how to ensure that children have access to health services. Fully free of charge, online child safety from all forms of abuse, child support on investment aimed at increasing human capital in the digital age, etc.

Meanwhile, the results of this forum will be stated by a representative of the child during the meeting to celebrate the 75th anniversary of International Children's Day, June 1, the 23rd anniversary of World Day Against Child Labor, June 12, and Cambodian Children's Day. 2024 Presided over by H.E. Dr. Sar Sokha, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, High Representative of Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei HUN MANET, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, and Honorary Chairman of CNCC.
