The Kingdom of Cambodia establishes the Cambodian National Council for Children to coordinate and advise the Royal Government on work related to survival, development, protection, welfare promotion, and children's contributions.



The Kingdom of Cambodia ratified the Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC) on October 15, 1992. According to Article 44 of the CRC, signatory countries are required to provide progress reports on the implementation of the Convention on the Rights of the Child to the United Nations Committee on the Rights of the Child (UNHCR). The Royal Government of Cambodia established the Cambodia National Council for Children (CNCC) in accordance with Sub-Decree No. 83, dated November 20, 1995, and then edited the composition to Sub-Decree No. 56, dated June 28, 1999. At the end of 2009, the edited composition and structure became Royal Decree No. NS/RKT/1209/2011, dated December 21, 2009. At the beginning of 2024, the CNCC edited composition duties and structure for Royal Decree No. NS/RKT/0124/001 dated January 3, 2024.

CNCC, as the Secretary of the Royal Government, has a role as a facilitator and advises the Royal Government on work related to survival development, protection, welfare promotion, and the contribution of children. Prepare a child status report and report on the implementation of international conventions related to children's rights to the Royal Government and the United Nations Committee on the Rights of the Child, etc.
