Sunway Hotel, April 28, 2025, the General Secretariat of the Cambodia National Council for Children (CNCC), in collaboration with ChildFund Cambodia, organized the Workshop reflects on the implementation of the SWIPE SAFE Project.

The purpose of the meeting was to: (1) - To present the results, challenges, sharing experiences and knowledge of the implementation of the child online safety project of the relevant ministries, institutions and partner organizations; (2) To discuss and find common strategies to improve the effectiveness of online child safety and to strengthen and expand the target areas of online child safety projects.

This meeting is an important forum to reflect on current online child safety work practices and to collaborate to develop an effective strategy to protect children in the digital age. Through this reflection, we will be able to expand support for child safety online through education, advocacy for a safe online environment, and greater empowerment of children, especially response mechanisms and support for children who are victims of online abuse and exploitation.

The meeting was chaired by H.E. Kim Sovandy, General Secretary of the General Secretariat of the CNCC, high representatives of H.E. Chea Somethy, Minister of Ministry MoSVY, and Chairman of the Cambodia National Council for Children, With the participation of Excellencies, Lok Chumteavs ladies and gentlemen from ministries, institutions, and relevant partner organizations, a total of 50 people attended the event.

Please be informed that: General Secretariat of CNCC In collaboration with ChildlFund Cambodia, we have developed textbooks and teaching materials for child online safety training through the Swipe Safe project since early 2023. The preparation of textbooks and training materials for child online safety training is divided into four types of lesson packages, focusing on the following target groups: 1) - Books for training of trainers, 2) - Books for training social service work forces, 3) - Books for training parents, guardians and caregivers, and 4) - books for training of adolescents and young people. The development of textbooks and training materials is based on the Asia-Pacific online child safety model that has been implemented since 2017 through the Swipe Safe project. This child online safety training focuses on strengthening the knowledge of the social services work forces, parents, and adolescents to understand how to use the Internet safely and responsibly and protect themselves from other online abuses, especially the participants can learn how to seek help and respond when challenges arise online.
