Training Course on “Online Child Safety” for Social Services in Kampong Trabek District, Prey Veng Province

Kampong Trabek District Hall, Prey Veng Province, on 6th-7th March 2024, the General Secretariat of the CNCC has cooperated with WOMEN through financial assistance. Objects and techniques from ChildFun Cambodia organized a training course on "Online child safety" for the social services force. This course aims to strengthen the knowledge capacity of the social services force, mechanisms, and methods to prevent, respond and support the provision of services to children related to child sexual abuse and exploitation online in the Prey Veng province.

The training was chaired by H.E Nop Rithea, Deputy General Secretary, High Representative, H.E Kim Sovandy, General Secretary of the General Secretariat of CNCC. Participants who work as social service force a total of 25 from the commune level, in the Thkov and Kampong Trabek commune of Kampong Trabek district, Prey Veng province. This training was facilitated and presented by the Swipe Safe project team of the General Secretariat of CNCC.

H.E Deputy General Secretary was interested in opening the training course on "Child Safety Online" by highlighting the Royal Government's efforts related to the protection of children online through dissemination and training to ministries and institutions partners and staff working with children to gain a better understanding of child protection, as well as to raise awareness of children's rights. He added that this training is very important and provides new knowledge to our social services force to understand the cases of child sexual abuse online and to solve the knowledge to respond the needs of the protection women and children online in a timely. With this, H.E requested the participants to pay attention to participate in this training and apply this knowledge in their jurisdiction to serve the best interests of every child.
